Whether you’re coming out, letting us in, down and out, or just plain “it,” you won’t want to miss this. Motus will present a full-length production to bring awareness and provoke discussion around the ideas of inclusion and exclusion. Featuring all new choreography and collaborations with Tommy Lewey (paperStrangers) and Georgeanna Smith (NoExit Performance).

Be Burlesque Workshop with Jenee’ Michelle
February 25th, 2pm-5pm
Jenee’ Michelle, locally based burlesque performer, CEO of “Pur | The Company,” and former Las Vegas showgirl brings her signature “Be Burlesque | The basic burlesque workshop for everyone” to Motus. This three hour workshop features a hair and make-up tutorial, burlesque routine, and a tutorial and guide to make your own at-home pasties.

Motus will perform site specific gallery works featuring collaborations with artists, Jan Need and Audra Sokol.

Pairings
June 9th, 8p
Motus’ yearly fundraising event perfectly pairs 6 tastes of wine with 6 new dances, a feast for the senses! Featuring live music by Tonos Triad before and after the main event.

Teen Intensive Workshop
June 30th-July 1st
Back for its second year, this workshop gives dancers 13-19 years old at an intermediate level or higher with at least 2 years of dance training the opportunity to learn from new teachers, experience new forms and techniques, and challenge themselves with new choreography.

Breaking Ground Workshop
Sundays July 8th-29th
Participants will work on creating new performance art, collaborations, and choreography with a focus on giving and receiving constructive criticism with peers. In-Studio Showing August 5th.

Cultivate
(A Choreographer’s Showcase)
November 8th & 9th at 8pm
November 10th at 9pm
Indy’s emerging choreographers will participate in a shared concert. The process will include applications with previous work samples, auditions, free studio space, feedback and support, interactive internet applications with choreographer blogs and audience response, as well as media criticism.
